Hey how cool!  This is the small filter-ette at the bottom of the pickup tube on your fuel tank sending unit. This now comes as as a separate piece so now you don't have to buy a whole new sender!  Well, if this piece is toast, you'd better think about a new sending unit 'cause really big chunks of stuff are going where they shouldn't but hopefully being caught where they should!
